The MSc Computer Systems and Technologies programme, starting in October 2022, is offered by the Department of Computer Science of the University of Ruse (CS-RU). The programme will be delivered in Bulgarian for the students from Bulgaria and in English for the international students.
The aim of the MSc Computer Systems and Technologies to carry out investigations; to design, assemble and utilize; to perform manufacturing, technological, company and service activities; to do research and teach in the field of Computer and Information Technologies in view of their application in the public and private sectors, industry, agriculture, transport, banking, health care, environment protection, education, science, etc.
The programme lasts 1 year (60 ECTS)
Mandatory courses (5 ECTS each):
- Distributed Systems
- Distributed Databases
- Advanced Algorithm Design
- Design Patterns
- Computer Security and Defense
- Mobile Technologies
MSc Thesis is mandatory for everyone and cannot be replaced.
- Master Thesis (15 ECTS)
Elective courses (4 ECTS each) – students select 3 subjects:
- Cloud Computing
- Digital Audio and Video content processing Systems
- Virtual Instruments
- Programming Systems for Business Modelling
- Information Retrieval
- Programmable Logic Design
- AI Ethics I
- AI Entrepreneurship
- AI Ethics II and AI Policy Making
- AI on the Edge Webinars I and II
Elective courses (3ECTS each) – students select 1 subject:
- Technologies and methods for software testing
- Intelligent Computer Systems
- Neural Networks
Summer activities (totaling 4 ECTS)
(Optional participation but providing important added value)
AI Camp
Industrial/research internship (following evaluation it could be counted as an elective course)
The minimum qualifications required to apply are:
- University degree in pure/applied sciences (computer science, mathematics, etc.) or engineering (computer engineering, automation, etc.). If the qualification is not available at the time of the application, it must be presented before the beginning of the programme in September.
- Basic knowledge of computer programming acquired through previous studies or work experience.
- Proof of very good knowledge of English.
Submission of applications for October 2022 entrance:
Applications can be submitted personally in the university’s rectorate by 1st September 2022.
The applications should include the following:
- A Curriculum Vitae.
- Copies of university degrees or certified confirmation of graduation in cases where the student has a degree of a non-Bulgarian university.
- A brief statement of personal goals and scientific interests (up to 2 pages).

Scholarships
Α number of scholarships for partial expenses coverage are offered for new incoming students at Master’s level. Interested candidates can declare their interest in Application form.
